Karstadt is a large chain of department stores. Like many, each store has a food hall. I guess that you would have to be rich indeed to use them for your regular shop but they do have a tempting range.

The wine is the same. Much is expensive and I will not be writing a lot about the top end of their stock. Unless they decide to let me have some free samples of course.

I will write about some of the less expensive wines in the store though.

Many stores that used to be branded Hertie became Karstadt stores around then end of 2007. They all had the same parent company and before the rebranding they all had much the same range of wines anyway. Some of the smaller "old Herties" and Karstadt stores were then sold off and they now keep the Hertie name alive.

Since my local "used to be a Hertie" became a Karstadt, my focus will be there.
