Babich Winemaker's Reserve 2004 Hawke's Bay Pinotage

The price makes this a wine for special occasions and it does not let us down. We have had some unimpressive experiences with Babich in the past but this certainly redeems their standing. It has the light delicacy of a good St Emilion together with a lovely soft texture and a long lingering aftertaste of wild berries and a hint of vanilla and green peppers. If we had more money, we would drink this more often, we would not necessarily feel the need to go looking for something better.
