Six and a half Euros is quite a lot of money for a Montelpulciano d'Abruzzo so this wine is going to have to work quite to justify itself.
I liked it, with its dark red colour, smooth texture and wild berry flavours it had a lot of appeal but something was missing. Where were the flashes of purple and the slightly spicey zing that you can even get in a cheaper Montelpulciano d'Abruzzo - if you are lucky? It would have been worth five Euros and for that price I`d have gone back for another bottle. Wine rating 5/10. Value: below average |
