You have to pay about twice this much to get a better quality Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. A lovely deep red colour and an aroma that says,"drink me." Everything about this wine was spot on. The flavour, body and balance of acidity all hit the spot. It's a very satisfying wine indeed.

Nicer than the 1999 vintage.

That makes this my top choice for a bargain wine.
