2002 Chianti D.O.C.G. Salvanza

As a basic red wine, this hits the mark. The appealing scarlet colour makes up for the lack of a distinct aroma and the light fruity taste and good balance of acidity pleases the palate. However, I expect more from Chianti even at this price and there is none of the spicey tang that makes good Chianti stand out. For three and a half Euro, you will not have wasted your money but, for a distinctive Chianti, you will need to look elsewhere. Wine rating 5/10. Value rating 0 |
