Merlot 2000 Grave del Friuli

Well, this was good. It seems to have replaced the Le Altane Merlot in Plus as a heavier style Italian Merlot and it did the job well. It is a dark rich style of wine not like the more familiar Merlot Del Veneto wines which are made in Italy with this grape.
The dark colour and heavy body were very well balanced and while a little more acid would have sparked things up a bit the overal impression was jolly drinkable. Wine rating 6/10. Value rating 0 |
