Le Gavroche Beaujolais Villages Primeur 2008 GCF
You would normally expect the new Beaujolais Villages to be a little darker, fuller of body and more subtle than its lesser, Beaujolais cousin.
Messers GCF, purveyers of budget plonk to Germany's masses seem to have missed that one. You can read about their standard Beaujolais Neuveau here. So what went wrong here? Well, this wine has all of the rough edges of its cousin - though slightly less of a secondary fermentation but none of the freshness and, absent that, nothing else to redeem itself. Save twenty cents and get the cheapie this year. Wine rating 4/10. Value: below average |
