Beaujolais Villages Primeur 2001

Beaujolais Nouveau is always a little rough. It is after all hurried along to be drinkable by the third Thursday in November of the year of its harvest. This wine was just as it should be. Very fruity with a strong taste. It would be better with a little less acid but then if you are going to make wine on this schedule you have to take what you can get. We like this wine. It is happy and drinkable and like a favourite aunt on a short visit, it is only here for a few days. You wouldn't want it all year but you are happy to see it every November. Go to Marktkauf and buy it this weekend and drink it before the end of the month. Wine rating 6/10. Value rating +1 |
