La Terre Merlot 2000 Vin de Pays d'Oc

This wine had a rich dark colour, the bottler calls it ruby red whatever that is, and a pleasingly sold body with a smooth texture. In the normal French style for Merlot wines, this was dryer and not so fruity as a Merlot from Italy would be but it was a very satisfying bottle indeed.
As is common with Merlot, this wine can be drunk as soon as you open the bottle. Together with the price, this means that this is a great standby wine for when you need to open something at the drop of a corkscrew. Our original tasting notes for this predicted that we would buy more and we were right. Wine rating 5/10. Value rating 0 |
