Bottled in Chateauneuf du Pape, with a "heritage" label a bottle with a moulded pattern above the label and the word "Pape" in the brand title, it is pretty obvious what this wine is trying to be.

So, is this wine a cheap alternative to a Chateauneuf du Pape of is it just a top of the range Cotes du Rhone? Well, I have tasted some Chateauneuf du Pape that cost a lot more and was only a little better but this wine should really be classed as a straight forward Cotes du Rhone.

It does have a really nice light fruity taste along with a very soft texture and a pleasing delicate aftertaste. I liked it a lot but I would have prefered just a touch less acidity but I have said that about a lot of wine recently so perhaps there is something wrong with my taste.
