1999 Merlot Vin de Pays Des Coteaux de l'Ardeche

This was not really my idea of a Merlot as it had little of the exuberant fruitiness that we always hope for with this grape variety. While it was inoffensive enough, it was flat in taste and body and there are much better ways to spend thirteen Francs on a bottle of wine.
