Chateau Charrier 2000

When I opened the bottle, the aroma was the nicest that I have encountered at this price for a very long time. At just one and a half years old this wine was OK to drink and the cheap compressed particle cork suggested that we were not supposed to entertain thoughts of giving it another couple of years.
The vintners have done a decent job as the wine has a satisfying taste and the right amount of acidity. There is perhaps a fraction too much tannin but it's not a big deal. It's good and worth the money though if you do your homework, you could still get as good a wine for a little less in the same shop. I am refering to the 1999 Chateau Les Lesques. Wine rating 6/10. Value rating 0
