We do not normally buy branded as opposed to Chateau named Bordeaux here and I guess that this bottle is an iullustration as to why. It is drinking quality rather than cooking but that is about it. In colour, aroma and texture it is about on a par with a named minor chateau for a similar price but there is an aftertaste that makes this not such a good wine.
If you are shopping in Lidl, where we bought this, you should choose their Montepulciano d'Abruzzo which is similar but better for the same money and if you must spend this amount on a claret in Germany then you should go to the nearest Plus and pick from there. The wine is a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which are my favourites but it just tasted a little unfinished. Wine rating 4/10. Value rating -1 |
