The Black Crowes: the jpoc reviews American band The Black Crowes play music in the style of British bands of the late sixties and early seventies. Most notably the Stones but on occasion their music also reminds me of bands like Mott The Hoople and Deep Purple. The music is good but those British bands had something else. They were singing about something that mattered to them and they also had a good dose of wit. Those things, I have not seen in the work of the Crowes. |
