Emerson Lake and Palmer: the jpoc reviews One of the original super-groups and pioneers of the progressive rock genre. The music is an ambitious synthesis of progressive rock and keyboard music from Bach through Mussorgsky to Boogie Woogie and Honky Tonk. Always highly inventive, usually to good effect, the three members of the band created some of the most distinctive rock music of their era. Their latter years were not up to the same standards but their musical legacy from the early years is second to none. |
