Formula one, 2001 season Belgian Grand Prix at Spa: Engine news: the jpoc report

Honda were kept busy over the weekend of the Hungarian race denying reports that they were to supply engines for McLaren in 2004. Given that Mercedes have invested in and own part of the McLaren team, this was a pretty fanciful suggestion.

All the teams were now sorted out with their 2002 engine deals bar Prost and Minardi. Engines from Ferrari, Renault, AMT and Ford were all possibilities as well as Minardi's in house design. Prost were expected to go for AMT as they would be available at the lowest price.
