Formula one, 2001 season Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka: Circuit News: the jpoc report
After the US Grand Prix and in the wake of a certain amount of criticism about the circuit layout, Tony George, the man in charge of it all, affirmed that there would be no changes to the circuit layout for the next two races.

At least he was certain of a race in 2002. The calendar published by the FIA indicated that four races were provisional. Both Italian races were still subject to commercial negotiations, the Australian race was awaiting the outcome of the coroner's report on the death of a marshal in the 2001 race and the Silverstone race was held in the same sort of limbo as were the victims of the race's traditional traffic jams.
