Formula one, 2001 season Hungarian Grand Prix at The Hungaroring: Circuit News: the jpoc report

In a rare burst of sanity, the Malaysian Grand Prix organisers said that they had ruled out the possibility of running a night Grand Prix. The main aim would have been to fit in with European television schedules but it seemed that they had realised that jpoc gets up at four every morning anyway so there was no need for a night race.

Never a body to pull back from kicking a man who is on the deck, the FIA wielded the threat of dropping the British Grand Prix for 2002 because of the traffic jams at the Silverstone circuit. What do these people smoke? It's England. There are supposed to be traffic jams. The Brits wouldn't know they were having a good time if they didn't spend three hours stuck in a jam. It's a social event. Brits only speak to strangers in times of deep crisis like the Blitz or a good three hours on the M1 stuck just North of the Watford Gap. If they wern't all stuck in traffic jams they'd be petrol bombing each other's restaurants and where woudl that get the country?
